Bett, Tilda, Tom & Luce and their increase should be held in the possession of my executors and in trust of him, by him disposed of at his discretion for the purpose of affording a plentiful support for my loving Mother during her natural life and at her death, I then give the aforesaid Negroes Bett, Tilda, Tom and Luid & their increase to James Glenn (who is my present guardian) to him, his heirs & assigns forever & it is my desire that out of what money is in the hands of my guardian before mentioned, that my loving Uncle John Jarman with whom I lived last summer should have the sum of forty dollars to be paid him by my executors six months from the ratification of this my last will and testament, to him the said John Jarman, his heirs & assigns forever. I also give & bequeath out of the money being (in) my said guardian's hands, that my stepfather John Woldson Junior should have the sum of five pounds to him, his heirs & assigns forever. The balance of the money and such other articals of what nature or kind so ever, together with my small stock of cattle, that is not otherwise bequeathed, I give & bequeath that to the aforesaid James Glenn, his heirs and assigns forever. The Penelope Hopkins do constitute and appoint James Glenn my only executor to this my last will & testament, denying any and every other will or wills and acknowledging this to be my only will and desire & again I mention before named shall find a cause to be found from the property in his trust and for my Mother's use a plentiful support during her natural life, the balance after that, be it more or less, I then give it to the said James Glenn, his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof I here set my hand and seal January 2nd 1810. Penelope Hopkins (seal) Jesse Sandlin Sarah (her X mark) Humphrey Onslow County: In court January 1810, this will of Penelope Hopkins was proved in open court by the oath of Jesse Landin & ordered that James Glenn the executor therein named qualified thereto.
