ONSLOW COUNTY, NC - WILL BOOK A - Pitts Oldfield, 20 Sep 1809 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Record of Wills, Book A 1800-1825 Onslow County, North Carolina I, Pitts Oldfield of Onslow County and State of North Carolina, considering the uncertainity of human life at best particularly my own in my present declining health, do while in a firm mind and recollection make this my last will and testament intending hereby do dispose of my worldly affairs not as humor may prompt but as justice and equity shall seem to direct, first of all I most humbley recommend my soul to the extensive mercy of that all wise supreme intelligent being who gave it one most earnestly at the same time deprecating his justice. ITEM: My will and desire is all my just debts be paid and satisfied by my executor. ITEM: I give devise and bequeath my loving wife Louvin Oldsfield Negroes Anthony Sylvia and her child, two beds and furniture, four cows and calves sufficiency of hogs for one years provision, one fat beef cow, her her heirs and assigns forever. ITEM: I give, devise and bequeath unto my elder son George Oldfield, Negroes Enoch and Iseral the amount and profits of the sale of my young horse Larry, (to) him, his heirs and assigns forever. ITEM: I give and devise unto my son Urbane Oldsfield, Negro girl Lucretia him his heirs and assigns forever. ITEM: I give and devise unto my youngest son Pitts Oldsfield (Jr.) one Negro girl Dorcas, also five hundred dollars him his heirs and assigns forever. ITEM: I give and devise unto my wife Louvina Oldsfield one horse named Chestnut one chair and harness her her heirs and assigns forever. ITEM: I give unto my nephew Ruben Fulcher two hundred dollars him his heirs and assigns forever. ITEM: all the residue of my estate real and personal I devise my executor to sell to the best advantage in order to enable to pay my debts and the balance of surplus remaining I desire may be divided among my wife and children equally to share and sahre alike. Last of all I nominate and appoint my trusty friend Louvina Oldfield Richard Oldsfield Executoris of this my last will and testament acknowledging this only to be my last revoking all others by me made at any time heretofore.
