ONSLOW COUNTY, NC - WILL BOOK A - Mary Pitts, 18 Mar 1800 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Record of Wills, Book A 1800-1825 Onslow County, North Carolina State of North Carolina: Onslow County: In the name of God, Amen: I Mary Pitts of said State and County, being in good health of body and good mind and memory but mindful of mortality and desireous so to settle my affairs, that after my deceased my children and grandchildren may be at peace, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following, (that is to say), Chief of all I do recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God my maker and Jesus Christ my redeemer, and my body to the ground to be buried in such descent and Christian like manner as to my executors shall deem meet hoping to receive the same again at the general resurrection at the last day, and for such worldly goods as it ;has pleased Almighty God to bless me with after my just and lawful debts and necessary expenses being first paid and satisfied, I do make an inventory of my whole estate, as it stands this day and annexed the same to this my will on the long sheet of paper and my desire is that such part of my estate as cannot be conveniently divided as hereafter mentioned in my inventory should be all fairly valued by three good and lawful men of said County appointed by an expressed writ of said county and for that particular purpose. ITEM: It is my will and desire that the remaining part of my property be equally divided among my children, and grandchildren as having been by me expressed. ITEM: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Hannah Hewet one Negro woman named Easter as also one Negro girl named Millie, to her daughter Desire Mitchell to them and their heirs forever. ITEM: I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Allifain Carnwalt and to her heirs one cow and calf in full consideration of all I mean to give her. ITEM: I give and bequeath unto my son Rigdon Pitts one full share or one fourth part of all my estate both real and personal to him and his heirs forever. ITEM: I give and bequeath unto my grandsons Peter, Richard and Pitts Oldfield sons of my daughter Mary Oldsfield decd's three fourths part of a full share of my estate to them and their heirs. ITEM: I give and bequeath unto my great grandchild Mary Fulsher daughter of my granddaughter Sarah Fulsher one fourth part of a full share of my estate both real and personal to her and her heirs forever. ITEM: It is my request that my granddaughter Pamala Hinson have as her sole right one hundred silver dollars that Robert Carnwalt owes my from the money judgments against Allen Backhouse and received by Adam Scott as constable. ITEM: It is my will and desire that all the remainder part of my estate, both real and personal should be divided share and share alike as above particularized and expressed as has not yet been devised or given away. ITEM: It is my request that my son Rigdon Pitts shall have my Negro woman Rhoda at her valuation and in the division with the other legetey. ITEM: I constitute and appoint my son Rigdon Pitts, John Hewet and Pitts Oldfield executors to this my last will and testament, revoking all other will or wills by me made at any time heretofore, in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred.
