ONSLOW COUNTY, NC - WILL BOOK A - William Pollock, 23 Dec 1800 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Record of Wills, Book A 1800-1825 Onslow County, North Carolina In the name of God Amen: I William Pollock of the State of North Carolina and the county of Onslow being very low in body but in my perfect mind and senses do make this my last will and testament. I recommend sole to God and my body to be decently buried and my worldly good to be divided & left as follows VIZ: ITEM: I give to my beloved wife Hannah Pollock the following Negroes VIZ: Samuel, Phobe, Manuel, & Leah during her natural life if my debts can be paid without but if not Manual & Leah must be sold to pay my debts and at the death of my wife the above mentioned Negroes is to be equally divided among my three youngest children namely Nancy Pollock, Sary Pollock and the child my wife now travails with and likewise the increase of the said Negroes if any I leave as the rest that I have already given. ITEM: I leave to my beloved wife, during her natural life the plantation where I now live, from the Craft's fence that the plantation from the river to the woods with a straight line as the fence runs out as far as Barrows line with all the houses and improvements thereunto belonging & at the death of my wife I leave the above mentioned land to my son William Pollock with all the woodling land belonging to it to him and his heirs forever. ITEM: I leave to my beloved wife seven cows & calves with all the young cattle & all my stock of hogs for the maintainance of her & my children also three feather beds & furniture one yoake of oxens and my grey horse & saddle & bridle with all my plantation tools and cart and at her death to dispose of the last mentioned thing as she sees proper. ITEM: I give to my son John Pollock one Negro man named Aamus with twenty five acres of piney land at the head line of the land I bought of John Beatt also one horse two cows and calves two yous & lambs half a dozen peuter plates two ploghs one iron pot, to him and his heirs forever. ITEM: I give to my son Elijah Pollock one hundred acres of land it being part of the land I bought of John Beatt with all the improvements thereto belonging the deviding line between my sons John & Elijah run from Butler's house a direct course to the ditch with a negroe boy named Hosea & one horse man pillion saddle & bridle two cows and calves two youse & lambs two sows & pigs & three dry hogs, one bar plow & iron pot to him and his heirs forever. ITEM: I give to my son Lewis the remaining part of my plantation from the above mentioned cross fence to Mudy Creek & up the said creek & the above line to Barrows line also the (?) I bought of William Norman and a negroe boy named Sambow, one horse named Dolphin with a saddle and bridle two cows & calves and the hogs he now claims with two yous & lambs one plow to him and his heirs forever. ITEM: I give to my daughter Ellenden Pollock one Negro girl named Sarah one feather bedstead & furniture two cows and calves two yous & lambs half doz earthern plates to her and her heirs forever. ITEM: I give to my son William Pollock one Negro boy named Luke to him and his forever. ITEM: I give to my daughter Henretta Pollock one negroe boy named Hardy to her and her heirs forever. ITEM: I give to my daughter Elizabeth Pollock one negroe named Esther to her and her hsirs forever. ITEM: I give to my daughter Nancy One negroe boy named Joseph to her and her heirs forever. My further desire is that my three sons John Elijah & Lewis Pollock be my executors to this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this twenty third day of December in the year of our Lord 1800.
