ONSLOW COUNTY, NC - WILL BOOK A - John Shepard, 2 Nov 1811 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Record of Wills, Book A 1800-1825 Onslow County, North Carolina In the name of God, Amen: I John Shepard of the state of North Carolina and the county of Onslow, being very low in body but in my perfect mind and senses do make this my last will and testamaent, I recommend my soul to God and my body to be decently buried and my worldly goods to be divided and left as follows, VIZ: ITEM: I give to my son Henry Shepard, one part of my land beginning at the mouth of the branch that divides the two fields, running up said branch to the main path then up said path to the head line, the part that lies on the south side of the said branch he is to have privilage of my well of water that is on the other side of said branch the house that I am about is to be in claused and chimner made out of my estate, to him and his heirs forever. ITEM: I give to my son John Shepard the reaminer part of my land lying on the north side of the branch that devise the two fields, one cow, one sow, and three shotes also I give one third of the reaminer part of my estate except my Negroes to him and his heirs forever. ITEM: I give to my son Daniel Shepard and Gardner Shepard my three Negroes by name, Negro man Ned and Negro woman Pheobe Negro boy Samson to be equally divided when the oldest comes of age also I give all the reminer part of my estate to them and their heirs forever. My further desire is that my friend Antony Sutton be my executor to this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this second day of November in the year of our Lord 1811.
