Stiles of the County of Onslow and State of North Carolina, being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life, do therefore make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, that is to say: FIRST: I give and bequeath to my beloved son John F. Stiles all my lands lying on the southeast side of Black Swamp and all other property now owned by me. I want my son John to pay all my just debts and want my creditors to give him a reasonable chance in doing the same. In witness whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal the ninth day of January in the year one thousand eight hundred sixty nine. J. W. Stiles (seal) Test: Hosea Fountain Wiley Bryan
