ONSLOW COUNTY, NC - WILL BOOK A - Moses Taylor, 25 Nov 1820 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Record of Wills, Book A 1800-1825 Onslow County, North Carolina In the name of God, Amen: I Moses Taylor of the County of Onslow and State of North Carolina, Planter, being weak in body but of perfect sound mind & disposing memory, blessed be God to make & ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following (VIZ) First of all, I recommend my sould into hands of Almighty God that gave it me, and my body to the earth whench it was taken, to be decently buried at the descretion of my executors herein named, and after all my funeral expenses is paid as for my worldly goods I give & bequeath in manner following: IMPREMIS: I lend unto my beloved wife Nancy Taylor during her natural life all that part of my plantation lying upon the northwest of a small drane running through said plantation with the privilage of the outland for fire wood furnishing her, also I lend unto my said wife one Negro man Jin during her natural life, also I lend unto my said wife Nancy two cows and calves, two sows and pigs, ten shotes, one mare, one yoke steers, two feather beds and furniture, one burrow , the bofat, with all its furniture one wood wheel, and one linning wheel half dozen chairs and tables all the kitchen furniture, one cart, one plow, three hoes & two axes, one chest, one loom, & its apparatus, two bedsteads, and cards, all the above mentioned property loaned to my wife Nancy Taylor for & during her natural life or widowhood and no longer. ITEM: My will is that all my property both real and personal of every discription not mentioned in the above loane to my wife to be sold at a six months credit, and after first paying all my just debts, the residue of moneys arising from such sale together with debts due me to be equally divided between my five daughters Experience, Rachel, Betsey, Sally & Anne, share and share alike to them, their heirs and assigns forever. Also, the property lent above to my wife after death or marriage I leave to be sold at a credit of six months and the money arising from such sale to be equally divided between all my children. Lastly I constitute and appoint my trusty friend Hardy Bryan and in case he fails to qualify John Madecks executors to this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills by me heretofore made ratifying and confirmin this to be my last will and testament as witness my hand the 25th day of November 1820.
