ONSLOW COUNTY, NC - WILL BOOK A - Enoch Thompson, 12 Nov 1819 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Record of Wills, Book A 1800-1825 Onslow County, North Carolina In the name of God, Amen: I Enoch Thompson, being weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following, VIZ: 1st: I give to my beloved wife Sarah Thompson one third of the land where I now live, one Negro wench by the name of Fan, one feather bed and furniture, two sows and pigs, half dozen setting hens, one table, & one chest half dozen paits one dish and baison, one pot and plantation tools of all kinds to have and to hold during her life time. 2nd: I give to my son Allford Thompson one horse that has been given him before, and one riding chair, one feather bed, and furniture, this property I mentioned to show that he is equal with the rest of my children, I also give him one nnegro wench at the death of my wife named Fan. 3rd: I give my son Elsey Thompson, all the land where I no live that fell to me by the death of my brother James Thompson, by his paying Alford Thompson one hundred dollars I also give Elsey Thompson out of said land one Negro girl by the name of Vilet one feather bed and furniture one mare one riding chair to have and to hold unto the said Elsey Thompson his heirs. 4th: I give unto my daughter Nancy Thompson one Negro gil by the name of Chaney, one feather bed and furniture one chest. 5th: Now if either Elsey Thompson or Nancy Thompson die without lawful heir of the body, the above property given to either returned back to be equally divided between the other two. 6th: My will is now the land joining the Humphery land and one piece in Mores Ridge joining Johnston's line and all the rest of my property not given away, I leave to be sold and after paying my burial expenses to go to paying my debts. I do appoint my son Alford Thompson and Edward Ward hole and sole executors of this my last will and testament, in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 12th day of November 1819.
