ONSLOW COUNTY, NC - WILL BOOK A - Nancy Thompson, 20 Nov 1816 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Record of Wills, Book A 1800-1825 Onslow County, North Carolina In the name of God, Amen: This 20th of November 1816, I Nancy Thompson, single woman of the County of Onslow, being very sick and not likely to recover & knowing I have once to die, do make this my last will and testament in the following manner; first I recommend my soul to God who gave it to me and my body to the earth and being by my birth an heir in the state of John Thompson long since deceased of the County aforesaid nd possessed as aforesaid of a small legacy subject to some claims the amount are uncertain which legacy is in the hands of my stepfather Jesse Sandlin who is my guardian I first desire that all just claims aforesaid doctors bills & funeral charges be paid the balance of that is then due me I dispose of as follows, I give to my beloved mother all my wearing cloths of every discription, except my new satin bonnet that I give to my brother Lewis Thompson's daughter (Ann Thompson) to them heirs & assigns forever. I then lend my mother the balance of the legacy due me from my father estate during her natural life free from the payments of any rising interest & at her death I then give the aforesaid legacy whatever it may be without the addition of interest to my brother Nathan Thompson, his heirs and assigns forever.
