ONSLOW COUNTY, NC - WILL BOOK A - Jesse Williams, 1 Nov 1801 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Record of Wills, Book A 1800-1825 Onslow County, North Carolina In the name of God, Amen: I Jesse Williams of the county of Onslow & State of North Carolina, being of a sound and perfect memory thanks be go God for the same do this the first day of November one thousand eight hundred & one, do make & ordain this my last will and testament, that is to say (VIZ): FIRST: My will & desire is that all my just debts & furniel charges be paid out of my estate. SECONDLY: I lend unto my beloved wife Polsey Williams all my estate real & personal until all my children shall come of age or shall marry my executors having liberty to sell such of my property as they may think my family can best spare at publick vendue except my lands & Negroes as will discharge all my debts and in case my beloved wife should marry any person that should misuse my children or appear to be wasting the property I leave it in thepower of my executor to have a division in the property & and point as the law directs her part & have my children used well, & fgurther my will is that the property lent to my wife Polsey Williams she shall board cloth & school all my children & give them a liveral education free & from any charge & when my daughter Polsey Willisams shall arrive to the age of eighteen years or marries then all the residue of my estate stock household furniture & my Negroes (VIZ): Squire, Ann, Nance, & her two children Isam & Briant, Ella, Carry, Rose, Silvy & three children Bill, Matthew & Handy & their increase to be equally divided between all my children namely Polsy Sency Hill, Anna (?), Jesse (Jr.) & Sally Williams & my loving wife by valuation then I give my daughter Posey Williams her part to her & her heirs forever, the remainder of the same property to continue in loan with my wife on conditions for the fupport of my children & family until the rest comes of age and then an equal division again as was with the first with the property remianig & the increase to that and its heris forever & so on as they come of age, until they all get their parts & further my will is that the money arising from my estate I leave it in the power of my executor to lay out in Negroes & them to be equally divided amongst my children & my will is that after the death of my beloved wife or after my children all comes of age or marrys for all my lands to be sold at five years credit dividing the amount of the sum in five parts paying one annually until paid dividing it equally amongst all my children to them & their heirs forever. I do hereby make & ordain my beloved wife Polsey Williams, UZ Williams, & Lott Ballard executors to this my last will and testament in witness whereof I the said Jesse Williams have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the day & year first above written.
