Dr. M. D. King. Surgeon Dentist. To no class of its citizens does a town look so anxiously and so proudly as to its young men. They are the future of the place, and in some instances help to make up its present also. Among the young professional men of Chapel Hill the name of Dr. King stands forth conspicuously as that of a leading figure, and justly so. In just such young men as he are seen the brilliant future of the town. Dr. King was born in Warren county March 7th 1869. His early training was at Warrenton, and a little later on at Whitsett Institute, Guilford county. After leaving the latter place with an excellent record behind him, he went to Baltimore, where he attended the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, having matriculated in 1893. From here he was graduated with marked distinction on March 20th, 1896. He now commenced the practice of dentistry in Warren, but only remained there until September of the same year, when he moved to Chapel Hill, and so gave to that place one of its brightest prospects. Dr. King has succeeded wonderfully, as is evidenced by his recently moving into a new office thoroughly equipped with every apt and device known to the world of dentistry. Nothing that could be there is lacking. This, however, is not the only evidence of his large practice. We hear it alluded to in conversation also. Dr. King is a member of the State Dental Society. On the 17th of March 1897, Dr. King married Miss Lizzie Carr, sister of Gen. Julian S. Carr, thus largely increasing his already large circle of friends. In religion Dr. King is a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He is a steward in his church, which fact would attest his loyalty and devotion to the faith of his choice. Dr. King is one of the large property owners of Chapel Hill. We will look forward with great interest to the time when Dr. King's name will stand forth great in the annals of Chapel Hill.
