Court Minutes
Monday 24th November 1851

     Antonio De Martino comes into Court & applies to be admitted
to become a citizen of the United States of America, & shows to
the Satisfaction of the Court by the oaths of George Laws &
Thomas B. Bailey (citizens of the State) that he has resided
within this State for more than three years last past & within
the Territory of the United States for more than five years, and that
he is a man of good moral character, attached to the principles
of the Constitution of the United States & Well disposed to the
good order & happiness of the same - And it further appearing
from the records of Said Court that the said Antonio De Martino
did more than two years ago to wit: at May Term 1849 duly make
& file his declaration to become a citizen of the United States;
Thereupon the said Antonio De Martino takes an oath to Support the
Constitution of the United States of American & on oath renounces and
adjures all allegiance & fidelity to any foreign prince, ?,
State or Sovereignty, whatever, & particularly to the King of the
Two Sicilies of whom he was a Subject -
Thereupon it is ordered by the said Court that the said
Antonio De Martino be admitted and he is accordingly admitted by said
Court to be a citizen of the United States of America.
