Witnesseth that he the said William Brown for and in Consideration of the Sum of twenty pounds to him in hand paid by him the said William Lingo the receipt whereof he the said William Brown doth hereby acknowledge & confess himself therewith fully satisfied contented and paid and doth hereby acquit and discharge him the said William Lingo and his heirs forever He the said William Brown hath given granted bargained and sold unto him the said William Lingo a certain tract or parcel of Land lying and being in Orange County and State aforesaid bounded as followeth (towit) Begining at a post Oak in a Corner of Person County in the Granville County line then along said line South forty seven Chains to a corner Stake on the Person County line then East twenty one and a third chains by the Person County line to the begining Containing One hundred acres of Land. To hand and to hold all the above parcel Land with all the improvements therein thereon or thereunto belongingor in anywist appertaining to the said land and premises and he the said William Brown hath hereby covenant and defend the said Tract of land from the lawful claims of his heirs and assigns and from the legal claim of all others to him the said William Lingo his heirs and assigns forever.
