All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jacqueline Wilkerson jgwilkerson@embarqmail.com September 5, 2009, 1:05 pm Written: July 5, 1802 Recorded: August 1802 Orange County North Carolina Deed Book 10, Page 178, 179 Wm. & Thomas Browning to Stephen Redding This Indenture made this fifth day of July in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand Eight hundred & Two between William Browning & Thomas Browning both of Orange County & State of North Carolina of the one part & Stephen Redding of Orange County & State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Browning & William Browning for and in consideration of the Sum of One hundred & four pounds to us in hand paid the receipt whereof the said William Browning & Thomas Browning doth hereby acknowledge we the said William Browning & Thomas Browning hath granted bargained & sold Aleniated & confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain & sell alien and confirm unto the said Stephen Redding his heirs & assigns forever all that [message] and all that parcel of Land situate lying & being in the County of Orange and in the State of North Carolina & is bounded as follows bounded by the Lands of William Cabe on the North and Haw branch on the East and the River Eno on the South begining at a red oak on the bank of Eno river runing thence along William Cabes line thirty Two chains to a Post Oak on the bank of Haw branch thence down the various courses of the said branch to the river thence up the river as it meanders to the first Station containing by Estimation One hundred & five acres also all trees woods & underwoods tiths commons pastures of [pasture] profits commodities advantages hereditaments ways waters & appurtenances whatsoever to the [message] & Lands above mentioned belonging or in anywise appertaining & also the remainder & remainders reversion & reversions Rents & Services the above premises of every part thereof & all Estate right title Interest claim & demand whatsoever of them the said William Browning & Thomas Browning of in & to the messuage & premises & every part hereof to have & to hold the said Messuage or tenement & all & singular the premises above mentioned & every part & parcel thereof with appurtenances thereunto belonging unto said Stephen Reding his heirs & assigns to the only proper use & behoof of of the said Stephen Reding his heirs & assigns forever & the said William Browning & Thomas Browning for themselves & their heirs & assigns [message] or tenements & premises & every part thereof against them & their heirs & assigns Executors or Administrators & against all & every person or persons whatsoever to the said Stephen Redding his heirs & assigns & will forever warrant & defend by these presents in Witness whereof we the said William Browning & Thomas Browning have set our hands & affixed our Seals the day & year first above written his Signed Sealed & delivered in presence of William X Browning (LS) Samuel Peelor mark Thomas Reding his Thomas X Browning (LS) mark Orange County August Term 1802 The Execution of the foregoing Deed was duly proved in Open Court by the Oath of Thomas Reding a subscribing witness thereto & Ordered to be registered Test Jno Taylor CC delivd.
