All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jacqueline Wilkerson jgwilkerson@embarqmail.com September 12, 2009, 9:39 pm Written: June 1, 1789 Recorded: May 1792 Orange County, North Carolina Deeds, Book 4, Page 577 James Carrington to John Carrington This Indenture made this first day of June in the year of our Lord one thou- sand seven hundred & Eighty Nine Between James Carrington of the County of Orange & State of North Carolina of the one part and John Carrington of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said James Carrington for & in Consideration of the sum of five Hundred pounds Current money of [?] to him in hand payed at or before the sealing and Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof the said James Carrington doth hereby acknowledge hath granted Bargined aliened & sold Released & Confirmed and by these presents doth grant Bargin Sell Alien Release & Confirm unto the said John Carrington his heirs and assigns for ever all that tract or parcel of Land & premises Situat Lying & being in the County aforesaid and on the Watters of Flatt River on the West side, Situate Lying & being Bounded as followes Viz Beginning at the Mill path where it Crosses the grate Road, and Northward allong the said path to a Marked post Oak thence Westward to a Post Oak By the small mill path near the mountain thence Northward to Old William Ashleys Corner pine, Tence Westward to a pine Still west Paralile with a Corner gum, Thence thence southward to a Corner White Oak on John Carringtons Line thence East allong the said Line to a post oak Corner on the New Road, Thence westward to the first Station Containing by Estimation Three hundred acres be the saim more or Less Together with all Remainders, Remainder & Remainders & Revertions thereto & every part & parcel thereof to the saim Belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use & behoof of him the said John Carrington To have & to hold the above granted premises and Land to him the said John Carrington his and assigns & heirs forever and the said James Carrington Doth for himself his heirs Exeors. Adminors. further Covenant and agree to and with the said John Carrington his heirs & assigns shall and may at all time hereafter forever, have, occupy hold, possess & Enjoy all the above granted Lands & premises without the least molestation or Denial of him the said James Carrington his heirs Exeors.
