All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jacqueline Wilkerson jgwilkerson@embarqmail.com September 12, 2009, 9:41 pm Written: May 7, 1788 Recorded: May 1792 Orange County, North Carolina Deeds, Book 4, Page 578 James Carrington to John Carrington This Indenture made this twenty seventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven Hundred & Eighty Eight Between James Carrington of the County of Orange & State of North Carolina of the one part & John Carrington of the County & State aforesaid of the other part WItnesseth That the said James Carrington for & in Consideration of the sum of one thousand pounds curency to him in hand payed by him the said John Carrington at or Before the sealing & Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof the said James Carrington doth hereby ack- -nowledge himself fully satisfyed, hath given granted Bargined & sold and by these presents doth give grant Bargin Sell Release & Confirm unto the said John Carrington his heirs & assigns for ever a Certain tract or parcel of Land lying and being situat in the County and State aforesaid Bounded as followith to witt Beginning at a Hiccory Black Oak & Maple at the mouth of the above mentioned John Carringtons Mill Creek on the Banks of Flatt River Running thence up the said Creek to a white oak thence South thirty two Chains to a white oak thence West thirty Six Chains to a post oak at the Road thence with the Road South fifty five Chains to a White oak then East to James Cozarts line thence North to Thomas Gibsons line thence [?] along Thomas Gibsons line to the River at a Certain Hicory on the Bank of Said River Thence up the meanders of said River to the first station Containing by Estimation [Six] hundred and Eighty Six acres and the Revertion & Revertions, Remainder & Remainders Rents Claims & Demands whatsoever as well in Equity as in Law of him the said James Carrington and his heirs [etc.] of in and to every part & parcel of the Land & premises above mentioned or in any wise appertaining unto the said John Carrington his heirs & assigns forever, and the said James Carrington for himself and his heirs doth Covenant and agree to and with to and with the said John Carrington his heirs & assigns forever by these presants that the said James Carrington for himself & his heirs the said Tract parcel thereof against him the said James Carrington and his heirs to the said John Carrington his heirs Exers.
