All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jacqueline Wilkerson jgwilkerson@embarqmail.com September 12, 2009, 9:45 pm Written: June 1, 1789 Recorded: May 1792 Orange County, North Carolina Deeds, Book 4, Page 579 James Carrington to John Carrington This Indenture made this first day of June in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred and Eighty Nine Between James Carrington of the County of Orange & State of North Carolina of the one part and John Carrington of the state and County aforesaid of the other part WItnesseth that the said James Carrington for & in Consideration of the sum of one Thou- sand pounds current money to him in hand payed at or before the Ensealing & Delivery of these presents doth grant Bargin sell Release & Confirm unto the said John Carrington his heirs and assigns for ever all that tract or parcel of land and premises situate lying & being in the County aforesaid on the West Side of the Waters of Flatt River Bounded as followith Viz Beginning at a post Oak on the New Road at the Red Cabbin Corner Running with the said Red Cabbin line West to Samuel Toruntins line thence North to John Carringtons line thence East along the said Carringtons line to a Corner [?] on the New Road, Thence South along the New Road to the first Station-Containing by Estimation one hundred & Seventy acres by the same more or less with the Revertion & Revertions Remainder & Remainders and every part & parcel thereof to the saim Blonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use and Behoof of him the said John Carrington TO have & to hold the above mentioned & granted land & premises to the said John Carrington his heirs & assigns forever And the said James Carrington doth for himself & his Heirs Exrs. and Admins. Further Covenant & agree to and with the said John Carrington his heirs and assigns Shall and may at all times forever hereafter have hold occupy po[?] & Enjoy all the above granted land & premises without the least Molestation or Denial of him the said James Carrington his heirs Exors. Admrs. or assigns or any of them and the saim will warrant & forever Defend against all other forever whatsoever In Witness whereof the said James Carrington hath hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal the day & year first above written.
