All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jacqueline Wilkerson jgwilkerson@embarqmail.com March 31, 2009, 2:16 am Written: March 23, 1792 Recorded: May 1792 Orange County North Carolina Deed Book 4, Page 566 Stephen Carrell etal to Thomas Reding This Indenture made this Twenty third day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Ninty two Between Stephen Carrol and Abraham [Whitaker] both of the County & State of North Carolina of the one part & Thomas Reding of Orange County & State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the Said Stephen Carol & Abraham [Whitaker] for & in Consideration of the Sum of fifteen pounds to us in hand payed the Receipt whereof the said Stephen Carrel & Abraham [Whitaker] doth hereby acknowledge We the said Stepphen Carrel & Abraham [Whitaker] hath granted Bargined and sold aliened and Confirmed and by these presents doth grant Bargin & Sell Alien & Confirm unto the said Thomas Reding his heirs & assigns forever all that M[?] and all that pice or parcel of Land Lying and Being in the County of Orange and in the state of North Carolina Bounded as follows Bounded by the lands of Thomas Reding on the South and by the [River] River Eno on the North and by the Lands of Abraham Whiteaire on the East begining on a Sweet gum Sappling on the Bank of the River on Thomas Redings line Runing thence East fifty Seven poles to a Sweet gum on Thomas Redings line North Sixty Eight poles to a Black gum thence West Eleven poles to a Branch on the Bank of the River Then the Various Courses up the River to the first station Containing by Estimation Sixteen Acres by the saim more or Less also all trees woods & under Woods [?] Commons pastures of pastor profits Comedys advantages hereditaments Ways Watters & appurtainances whatsoever to the Said M[?] and Lands above mentioned Belonging or in any wise apertaining and also the Remainder & Remainders Revertion & Revertions Rents & Services of the said premises of Every part thereof and all Estate Right Tittle Intrast Claims & Demands whatsoever of them the Said Stephen Carel & Abraham White= =aire of in & to the said M[?] & premises and every part thereof To Have & To hold m[?] or Tenements and all and Singular the premisses above mentioned and every part & parcel thereof with the apurtenances thereunto Belonging unto the said Thomas Reding his heirs & assigns for ever; to the only proper use of him the said Thomas Reding his heirs & assigns forever and the said Stephen Carrel and Abraham Whiteacker for themselves & their heirs and assigns the said M[?] or Tenement and premises and every Part thereof against them & their heirs and against all & every person or persons whatsoever to the said Thomas Reding his heirs & assigns Shall & will warrant & for ever Defend by these presants In Witness whereof we the said Stephen Carrel & Abraham Whiteaire hath hereunto set their hands & seals the day & year first above written Signed Sealed & Delivered ) his in the presence of ) Stephen X Carrell (seal) Benjamin Carrell Jurat ) mark Henry Bunch ) his Abraham X Whiteacre (seal) mark State of North Carolina May Term 1792 Orange County The Execution of the within Deed was Duly proved in open Court by the oath of Benjamin Carrell one of the subscribing Witnesses thereto and ordered to be Registered Test ABBruce C.C.
