ORANGE COUNTY, NC - DEEDS - North Carolina to Nathaniel Christmas 8 Dec 1797 Orange County, North Carolina Deed Book 7 p450 State to Nathaniel Christmas No 1,325 To all to whom these presents shall come greeting. Know ye that we for and in consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every hounded acres hereby granted paid into our treasury by Nathaniel Christmas have given and granted and by these presents so give and grant unto the said Nathaniel Christmas tract of land containing two hundred and fifty acres lying and in the county of Orange adjoining land of Strudwick lying in that part commonly called the grove between Strudwick's lower and middle tracts. Beginning at a Post Oak a corner of Thomas Lasey running thence along his line east twelve chains to a Post Oak on the Fayetteville road thence along another of Lasey's line and the road south thirteen degrees east seven chains to a stake on Strudwick's line thence along the same north twenty-nine degrees east sixty-one chains to a stake on the Moccasin Branch thence north fifty degrees west seventy-two chains to a stake on a line Strudwick's middle tract thence along the same one hundred and fourteen chains to a stake Lafley's line thence also the same to the beginning. Warrant dated the 17th one thousand seven hundred and ninety-seven as by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear with all ways, woods, waters, mines, minerals, profits, heredelaments and appurtenances there unto belonging or anywise appertaining to hold to the said Nathaniel Christmas his heirs and assigns forever yields and paying to us such sums of money yearly as our General Assembly from time to time may direct provided always that the said grantee shall cause this grant to be enrolled in the Registers Office in the said county of Orange within the time limited by la otherwise the same shall be void. In testimony whereof we have caused these our letters to be mage patents and our great seal to be hereunto affixed.
