State of North Carolina, Orange County.

This deed made this the 30 day of August 1907 by John Christmas, Sallie
Christmas & Eliza Christmas of Orange County and state of North
Carolina, of the first part to, N.W. Brown of Orange County and state of
North Carolina of the second part.  Witnesseth, that said John
Christmas, Sallie Christmas & Eliza Christmas in consideration of  two
hundred and sixty dollars, to them paid by N. W. Brown, the receipt of
which is hereby acknowledged, has bargained and sold and by these
presents do bargain, sell and convey to said N.W. Brown heirs and
assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land in Hillsboro, Orange County
state of North Carolina adjoining the lands of C.D. & D. Turner and
others, bounded as follows, viz: Situate at the intersection of King and
Oceoneechee Streets in the town bounded on the north by the lot of C.D.
& D. Turner on the east by Oceoneechee St., on the south by King Street
and the west by Edmond McDowell and others being two thirds interest in
said lot, containing one acre more or less.
To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land, and all
privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging, to the said N.W. Brown
heirs and assigns, to their only use and behoove forever.  And the said
John Christmas, Sallie Christmas and Eliza Christmas for … and heirs
executors and administrators, covenant with said N.W. Brown' heirs and
assigns, that they seized of said premises in fee, and have right to
convey in fee-simple that the same are free and clear from all
encumbrances,  and that they do hereby forever warrant and will forever
defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons
whomsoever.  In testimony whereof the said John Christmas & wife Sallie
Christmas  & Eliza Christmas have hereunto hand and seal, the day and
year first above written.
