Of the Stat of North Carolina and County of Orange of the one part and James Craig Jr of the County and State aforesaid on the other part. Witness that the said James Craig Senr for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty two pounds to him in hand paid by the said James Craig Jr. at and before the sealing and signing of these present, the receipt Whereof is hereby acknowledged he the said James Craig Senr hath granted bargained and sold and by these present doth grant bargain and sell unto the said James Craig Jr. his heirs Executor administrators or assigns a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Orange on the waters of Richland fork a branch of New Hope and bounded as follows on the north by Joseph Martell on the east by William Strayhorn (Strayhorse) on the- on the south by said James Craig Sr. on the west by James Kerr. Beginning at the black oak on James Kerrs line running thence east forty chains to a white oak corner to Joseph Martell thence with his line west forty chains to a black oak on Kerrs line thence south with his line seventeen chains and fifty links to the beginning. Containing seventy acres be the same more or less being part of a tract of land of 280 acres granted by Earl Granville to Frances Corbin and conveyed by him to William Craig the 13th day of March 1755. The above tract was laid off by Charles Christmas the 12th of june 1798 together with all the priviledges and commodities to the same belonging or in any wise ascertaining and the rents issues and profits of the said premises and of every part and parcel thereof and all the estate right title interest claim and demand whatsoever of him the said James Craig Senior of in and to the said land and premises and every part thereof to have and to hold the said James Craig Jr. and all and singular other the premises above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said James Craig Senr his heir ans assigns forever to the only proper use and behalf of him the said James Craig jr his heir and assigns forever and the said James Craig Sen for himself and his heirs the said tract of land and every part thereof against him and his heirs and against all and every person and persons whatever to the said James Craig Jr. his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend by these present In witness whereof the said James Craig Sr. hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above.
