Hampton W. Dollar to John W. Markham

This Indenture made and entered indented on the
9th day of Feby in the year of our Lord One thousand eight
hundred and Sixty One Between Hampton W Dollar of the
County of Orange and State of North Carolina on the one
part and John W Markham of the County and State aforesaid on the
other part Witnesseth that the said Hampton W Dollar for and in
consideration of the sum of three hundred & fifty dollars to him in hand
paid by the said John W Markham by or before the Sealing and delivery
of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath this day
given granted bargained sold aliened confirmed and conveyed and
by these presents doth give grant bargain sell alien confirm and convey
unto the said John W Markham his heirs and assigns a certain tract
or parcel of land situate in the County and State aforesaid on the
Waters of Elerbees Creek Adjoining the lands of James A Malone Willis
R Markham, [?] Turner John Leathers and others containing Sixty
two acres more or less it being one half of said tract of Land
 To have and to hold the aforesaid land with all the appurtenances therewith
belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said John W Markham his
heirs and assigns forever, the said Hampton W Dollar his heirs and assigns
will forever warrant and defend the title of said land to him the said
John W Markham his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims
of all persons whomsoever. In testimony whereof the said Hampton W
Dollar hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal this day and
year above written

   The execution of the foregoing Deed was duly acknowledged before
me George Laws Clerk of the Court of Pleas & quarter Sessions of Orange
County by Hampton W Dollar the Subscriber thereto. Therefore let the said
Deed together with this certificate be registered.
