All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jacqueline Wilkerson jgwilkerson@embarqmail.com September 12, 2009, 10:02 pm Written: August 8, 1822 Recorded: August 9, 1822 Orange County, North Carolina Deeds, Book 20, Page 17, 18 William and Mary Dollar to John Neely This Indenture made and indented this the eight day of August in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hun =dred & Twenty two Between William Dollar Senr. & his wife Mary Dollar both of the County of Orange & State of North Carolina of the one part and John Neely of the County & State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said William & Mary Dollar for and in Consideration of the Sum of Six hundred & fifty dollars to them in hand paid by the said Neely, before the sealing & delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof they the said William & Mary doth hereby acknowledge have this day bargained, sold and delivered And by these presents doth bargain, sell & deliver [?] & Confirm unto the said John Neely his heirs & assigns forever One Tract or Parcel of Land Situate lying & being in the County of Orange & State aforesaid on Mountain Creek-Beginning at a Dogwood on the Bank of Moun =tain Creek [?] G. Watsons line, runing thence west with said line thirty nine chains & twenty five links to a Black Oak, thence South fifteen degrees East along the dividing line between the said William Dollar & William Guess, thirty nine chains & twenty five links to a Red Oak thence East Twenty One chains to a Persimmon - thence North fifty four degrees East nine chains & fifty links to a white Oak Stump with pointers thence North to the bent of Mountain Creek, thence up the meanders of said Creek thirty four chains to the beginn =ing: Containing by estimation one hundred Twenty four & half acres be the same more or less to the only proper use and behoof of him the said John Neely his heirs [?] the same being formerly Two Tracts of land one of which was deeded to the said John Dollar by the late Stephen Wilson dec. Containing one hundred acres, the other Tract descended to the said Mary Dollar by the last Will & Testament of her Father the said Stephen Wilson dec and the said William Dollar for himself and his heirs and the said Mary Dollar for herself & her heirs, both jointly & Singular Warrent & forever defend the right & Title of the above and within Specified Tract or Tracts of land with all & Singular its appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to the said John Neely his heirs, & assigns forever against the said William & Mary Dollar their Singular & Joint heirs and against the lawful claim or or claims of all other persons whatsoever In Testimony whereof the said William & Mary Dollar hath Jointly set their hands & affixed their Seals the day & Year first above written - William Dollar (seal) Signed Sealed & delivered ) Mary Dollar (seal) In presence of ) North Carolina I Certify that the above Deed was duly proven before me Frederick Nash one of the Judges of the Superior Courts of law & Equity in & for the said State by the Acknowledgment of William Dollar & Mary Dollar the parties signing the same & the said Mary Dollar being by me privily examined & apart from her husband acknowledged that she signed the said Deed of her own free Will & accord & without any force or apprehension thereof from her husband or any other person Let it be Registered August 9th 1822 ) F.
