This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Harold Forsythe lilbitvett2@aol.com ========================================================================= William Forsyth to his Children Know all men by these presents that I William Forsyth of the County of Orange, state of North Carolina, for and in the consideration of the love and affection I have and bear to my sons James, Barnett & John, & to my Daughters Ann, Margaret & Gilley and for the divers other considerations me hereunto moving have given granted made over and confirmed and do by these presents give grant make over and confirm unto my three sons and daughters aforesaid to each one equal share or part my several following named negroes viz Simon, Cato, Mary, Sam and Amy, and to my sons Barnett & John for the particular love and affection I bear towards them, I also give grant make over alien and confirm all that tract or parcel of land whereon I now reside bounded by & adjoining the lands of Jesse Nevill, M McCauley, John Joysen (?) & Peter Wills or the entire residue of the said tract or parcel of land which shall be found to remain after the part which I have already given and granted to my son James above named shall have been surveyed off, and established according to the metes and bounds of his deed in equal parts or shares according to the value thereof to have and to hold the said granted premises to my sons Barnett & John and the said negro property as named above with its probable increase of numbers and value top my six above named children in equal proportions or parts as aforesaid according to its amount or value when it shall be divided among them against all persons claims or demands or titles whatsoever & I will forever warrant and defend the premises & property aforesaid to each of my said children as above stated and designated against all other persons claims or titles whatsoever reserving however at the same time and it is hereby understood that I reserve to myself and to my wife during our natural lives and pleasure the entire use management & benefit as we have heretofore enjoyed it, of and upon the said premises & property as at present situated without the power to remove from there or dispose of them else where without consent of parties as witness my hand & seal this 30th day of October 1809. signed Wm.
