This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Sandra Cooley Nackab SNackab@aol.com ==================================================================== ORANGE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA DEED BOOK 14, pg.554 David Glen, Grantor Reben Carden, Grantee This Indenture made this seventh day March in the Year of Our Lort Eighteen hundred & twelve Between David Glen of Orange County & State of North Carolina and Reubin Carden of the County of Wake and state aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth the said David Glen for and in consideration of the Sum of Forty Dollars to him in hand paid by the said Reuben Carden the receipt whereof is fully acknowledged he the said David Glen hath granted bargained and Sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sale unto the said Reuben Carden One certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Orange on the North side of Ellebys Creek and is bounded as follows. Begining on the said Creek at a Mulberry thence N.75 W. 23 chains to a pine on the Road side then along the Road S 51 W. 7 1/4 chains to a pine Handcocks Corner then E 18 1/4 chains to a pine then S. 8 1/2 chains to James Woods corner then S. 70 E. on Woods line 18 chains to said Creek then down the said creek as it manders to the begining containing by estimation Sixteen Acres by the same more or less together with all the appertenances thereunto belonging to have and to hold the said land and premises to him the said Reuben Carden his heirs & forever and the said David Glen for himself his heirs & doth warrant and forever defend a good and lawful title to the said tract of Land unto him the said Reuben Carden his heirs & from all claim or claims of all person whatsoever.
