Leathers, Grantor Duncan Glenn, Grantee This Indenture made and entered into this 26th Feby 1848 between Jno. B. Leathers of the County of Orange and State of North Carolina of the one part and Duncan Glenn of said County and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said John B. Leathers for and in consideration of the sum of Forty Dollars the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto the said Duncan Glenn all his the said John B. leathers interest of in and to a certain tract of land situated lying and being in the County of Orange and State aforesaid on the Waters of the Elerby Creek adjoining of Baldy Nichols and others the whole tract containing two hundred and twenty acres more of less said interest hereby conveyed being on Eleventh part of said tract of land to have and to hold the aforesaid interest unto him the said Duncan Glenn his heirs and assigns forever & free and discharge of any and all incumberances so far as one Eleventh part of said tract is concerned and the said John B. Leathers for himself his heirs and assigns unto the said Duncan Glenn his heirs and assigns will forever warrant and forever defend the right title and interest of the said Eleventh part herein conveyed against the lawful claim of claims of any and all persons whatsoever. In Testimony hereof the said John B. Leathers hath hereunto set his hand an affixed his seal the day and date first above written. J. B.
