All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jacqueline Wilkerson jgwilkerson@embarqmail.com September 5, 2009, 6:11 pm Written: March 17, 1847 Recorded: May 1856 Orange County North Carolina Deed Book 35, Page 70, 71 Moses Guess Est by Exr etal to Mary H Redding Guess To Redding This Indenture made this 17th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred & forty Seven between William W Guess Exr. of Moses Guess deceased of the one part & Mary H Redding of the other part both of the County of Orange & State of North Carolina Witnesseth that the said William W Guess Exer. as aforesaid for and in consider =ation of the sum of thirteen dollars to him in hand paid by the said Mary H Redding the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged he the said William W Guess hath granted bargained & sold & by these presents doth grant bargain & sell unto the sd Mary H Redding a certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in the County aforesaid on the Waters of Eno River adjoining Thos Redding Moses McC[?] heirs and bounded as follows beginning at a Sassafras on the fish dam road thence up sd road to a black oak west thence south across said road to a post oak thence east to a White oak thence North across the said road to the first Station containing three acres be the same more or less together with all the appurtenances thereto belonging to have & to hold the said land and premises to her the said Mary H Redding her heirs & assigns forever & the William W Guess Exer. for himself his heirs & assigns doth warrant & defend the said land & premises to the said Mary H Redding her heirs [etc] In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal the day & year first above written signed sealed & delivered in presence of us William W Guess (seal) Willie G Guess Louisa Laws Orange County Court May Term 1856 The Execution of the foregoing Deed was duly acknowledged in Open Court by William W Guess the Subscriber thereto and ordered to be Registered.
