Waters of Back Creek
Written: June 16, 1787
Recorded: August 1788

16 July 1787, WILLIAM HODGE and CHARITY, his wife to THOMAS HOLGAN, all of 
Orange, N. C. for 157 pounds, 150 acres on waters of Back Creek., granted to 
ALEXANDER KILPATRICK, 3 Sept. 1780. KILPATRICK to HUGH SHANNON in 1781, 
bounded by WHITE, HODGE,and PATTEN. Beginning at a black jack, W 35 chs. to a 
beach on Back Creek, down the creek 20 chs. to a gum, S6W 12 chs. to a post 
oak, S70E 6 chs. to a persimmon, S60E 10 chas to a bow, S32E 11 chs. to a bow, 
N22E 31 chs. to a bow, a straight line to the first station. (Signed) WM.

REY at August Court 1788.
