This Deed made this Thirteenth day of October 1885 by Thos. W. Holden of 
Orange County and State of North Carolina of the first part to Roland C. Hill 
of Orange County and State of North Carolina of the second part. Witnesseth 
that said Thos. W. Holden in consideration of Three Hundred & Seventy Five 
Dollars to him paid by Roland C. Hill, receipt of which is hereby acknowledged 
has bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain, sell and convey to 
said Roland C. Hill heirs a certain undivided one third interest had in parcel 
of land in Orange County State of North Carolina adjoining the land of the 
heirs of Adam Douglas, decd, James William Sea--- and others. This land is 
known as the Isaac Holden home tract lying Buck Water Creek and containing One 
hundred and eighty seven acres more or less to have and to hold the aforesaid 
undivided one-third interest and all privileges and appurtenances thereto 
belonging to the said Roland C. Hill his heirs and assigns to his only use and 
behoof forever.
And the said Thos W. Holden covenants that he is seized of said premises in 
fee and has right to convey the same in fee simple. That the same are free and 
clear from all encumbrances and that he will warrant and defend the said title 
to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever.
In Testimony Whereof the said Thos. W. Holden has hereunto set his hand and 
seal the day and year above written.

before me by T. W. Holden the grantor hereof. Let it with this certificate be
