George Roberts to William Hutchins

This Indenture made and entered into the 17th day of April One thousand eight 
hundred and thirteen Between George Roberts of the County of Rockingham and 
State of North Carolina of the one part and William Hutchins of Orange County 
and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration 
of the sum of Five hundred Dollars to him in hand paid by said William 
Hutchins to said George Roberts the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, 
and in consideration thereof said George Roberts hath given granted bargained 
and sold and by these presents doth give grant, bargain and sell alien and 
confirm unto said William Hutchins a certain Tract or parcel of land situtate 
lying and being in the County of Orange on Ellebees Creek Bounded as follows 
(viz) Begining at an ash James Latta's line on a branch called the Meeting 
House Spring branch thence down the several courses of said Branch to a gum 
and ash on John Carringtons line then South twenty seven degrees East Sixteen 
and a half Chains to a White O & poplar on bank of said Creek thence up the 
several courses of said Creek to a White O John Roberts Corner thence North 
fourteen & a half chains to Water O on a drean thence West nine chains to a 
pine thence North on said John Roberts and James Lattas lines to the first 
station containing four Acres be the same more or less with all houses 
buildings Orchards woods ways waters watercourses profits commodities 
hereditaments and the reversion and revertions, rents issues & profits thereof 
and all the right title interest use trust property claim and demand 
whatsoever of him said George Roberts to have and to hold to said William 
Hutchins his heirs and assigns forever and he the said George Roberts doth 
covenant for himself and his heirs the aforesaid Land and premises and every 
part thereof and against himself and his heirs and against the claim or claims 
of all and every other person or persons whatsoever to said William Hutchins 
his heirs and assigns shall all will warrant and forever defend by these in 
Witness whereof he said George Roberts hath hereunto set his hand and affixed 
his seal the day and Year first above written -
