Jenny Laws to John Jameson

Orange County Deed Book 19, Page 65 & 66

This Indenture made this first day of January 1812 one thousand Eight
hundred & twelve between Jean Laws of the One part & John Jameson of
the other part both of the County of Orange & State of North Carolina
Witnesseth that the said Jane Laws Relict of Thomas Laws Decd for & in
consideration of the Sum of Fifty Dollars to her in hand paid hath
bargained sold & Conveyed unto John Jameson all her Dower (so as to
include the house & Spring & cleared land) In a Tract of land that
belonged to Thomas Laws at his decease bounded by Harod Creek, Little
River & the Lands of Robert Hall & William Hall which Dower & all her
Interest in the same, her the said Jane will Warrant & forever defend
unto him the said Jameson his heirs & assigns forever Against the claim
of all Persons Whatever In witness to which I have hereunto set my hand
& Seal this day & date first above written           Jenny Laws (seal)
