Carrington July 5, 1827 Orange County Deed Book 24, Page 263 This Indenture made this fifth day of July in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred & Twenty Seven between John Laws of the County of Orange & State of North Carolina of the one part & James R. Carrington of the County & State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that for & in Consideration of the Sum of Four hundred Dollars to him in hand paid before the sealing & delivering of these presents by the said James R. Carrington the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained, sold & delivered unto the said James R. Carrington his heirs & assigns forever a Certain Tract or Parcel of Land lying & being in the County & State aforesaid Beginning at a white Oak on Mountain Creek, thence down the Creek South to Leather's land, thence West along Leathers & Fuzzells line to a Stake, William Cains land, thence North to a Stake John Wilsons line, Thence East to the beginning: And containing one hundred & thirteen acres be the same more or less To Have & To Hold the aforesaid Land & premises with all & Singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said James R. Carrington his heirs & assigns forever and the aforesaid John Laws his heirs & assigns do warrant & defend the above granted Land & premises to the sd James R. Carrington against the lawful claim of all persons whatsoever In testimony whereof the said John Laws hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal the day & date first above written.
