All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jacqueline Wilkerson jgwilkerson@embarqmail.com September 12, 2009, 6:52 pm Written: September 10, 1830 Recorded: May 27, 1834 Orange County, North Carolina Deed Book 25, Page 460 James Leathers etal to Samuel Bumpass This Indenture made this 10th day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred & thirty Between James Leathers and John Ray of the County of Orange & State of North Carolina of the one part and Samuel Bumpass of the County & State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth That whereas on the 22d day of January AD. 1828 James R Carrington Executed to the said Leathers & Ray a Deed in Trust to secure Moses Leathers for being his Security, on a Certain Tract of land containing one hundred & fourteen acres, commonly known as [Laws’s] Cross Roads, reference being had to said Deed which is Registered in the Registers Office of the County of Orange in Book U page 98 will more fully & at large appear, and Whereas the said Deed of Trust has been fully satisfied & discharged and the said James R Carrington has also sold & conveyed to the said Samuel Bumpass the above described Tract of land & executed a Deed for the same which is dated on the 10th September 1830.
