All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jacqueline Wilkerson jgwilkerson@embarqmail.com March 31, 2009, 2:02 am Written: March 13, 1780 Orange County North Carolina Deed Book 2, Page 354 State of NC to Thomas Reding State State of North Carolina No 293 To To all whom these presents shall come Greeting Reading Know ye that we for and in consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted paid into our Treasury by Thomas Reding have given & granted & by these presents do give & grant unto the said Thomas Reding a tract of Land containing one hundred Sixty three & three quarters acres lying & being in our County of Orange on the South Side of Eno river bounded by land Alex [Garison] beginning at a White Oak on the bank of Eno running thence South thirty nine & one half chains to a Post Oak thence East fifty chains to a Black Oak thence North twenty six chains to a Post Oak on the Bank of Said River thence up the meanders thereof to the first Station, as by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear; together with all woods waters mines minerals hereditaments & appurtenances to the said land belonging or appertaining to hold to the said Thomas Reding his heirs & assigns forever yielding and paying to us such Sums of money yearly or otherwise as Our General Assembly may from time to time direct provided always that the said Thomas Reding shall cause this grant to be registered in the registers off ice of our Said County of Orange within twelve months from the date hereof Otherwise the same shall cause this grant to be registered in the registers office of Our said County of Orange within twelve months from the date hereof Otherwise the same shall be void & of no effect In Testimony whereof we have caused our Great Seal to be hereunto affixed Witness Richard Caswell Esqr Our Governor Captain General & Commander in Chief at Kingston the thirteenth day of March in the fourth year of Our Independence & in the year of Our Lord one thousand Seven hundred & Eighty By his Excell[?]s command Richard [?] Wm Sheppard D Secty File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/nc/orange/deeds/northcar421gdd.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ncfiles/ File size: 2.9 Kb
