To all to whom these Presents shall Come Greeting Know ye that we for and in Consideration of the sum of fifty Shillings for every hundred acres here by Granted Paid into our Treasury by Thomas Reding have given and Granted And by these Presents doth give and Grant unto the said Thomas= Redding tract of Land Containing Twenty one acres lying and being in our County of Orange on the Waters of Eno Adjoining the lands of Abraham Whitaker and his own Begining at a black jack Whitacres Corner thence South Eleven Chains to a Post Oak Whitakers Corner then East Seventeen Chs. to a white Oak Whitakers Corner then South seven and a half Chains to a Stake in Reddins line then west Ten Chains to a Spanish Oak Reddins Corner then North Seven and a fourth Chains to a Stake then West Seven and a fourth Chains to a Stake then North one fourth Chains to a Stake then west twelve and a fourth to a black oak then North Eleven Chains to a black oak then East Eleven and a half Chains to the Begining as by the Plat here unto annexed doth appear with all woods ways waters mines minerals Profits Hereditaments and Appurtenances there unto belonging or in any wise appertaining To hold to the said Thomas Redding his heirs and assigns forever Yielding and paying to us such Sums of Money Yearly as our General Assembly from time to time May direct Provided Always that the said Grantee shall Cause this Grant to be enrolled in the Registers office in Said County of Orange within the time limitted by law otherwise the same shall be Void In Testimony whereof we have Caused these our letters to be Made Patent and Our Great Seal to be here unto Affixed Witness Samuel Ashe Esqr. Our Governor Captain General and Commander in Chief at Raleigh the first day of March In the 21st year of Our Independence And in the year of Our Lord one thousand Seven hund =red and Ninety Seven.
