State of NC to Bird

State of North Carolina No 430
To all to whom these present shall come, greeting.  Know ye that we for and in 
consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every hundred acres hereby 
granted, paid unto our treasury by James Bird have given and granted by these 
present do give and grant unto the said James Bird a tract of land containing 
one hundred acres lying and being in the county of Orange lying on the waters 
of Stag Creek of Quakers Creek bounded on the East by his own land and the 
land of William Bradford beginning at a white oak running thence west five 
chains to a blackjack then north forty chains to the first station.  As by the 
plat hereunto annexed doth appear, together with all Woods, Waters, Mines, 
Minerals,,hereditaments and appastenaces to the said land belonging or 
ascertaining to hold to the said James Bird his heirs and assigns forever, 
yielding or  ? to us  ? or otherwise as our General Assembly from time to time 
may direct, provided always that the said James Bird shall cause this grant to 
be registered in the Registers Office of our said Coutny of Orange with in 
twelve months fromt eh date here of otherwise the same shall be void of no 
effect.  In Testimony whereof we have caused our great seal to be hereunto 
affixed.  Witness: Alexander Martin Esquire our Governor Captain General and 
Commander in chief at this field the twenty fifth day of October in the 
Seventh year of our Independence and the year of our Lord one thousand and 
seven hundred and eighty two.
