This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Harriet Odom Hodom@prodigy.net ==================================================================== Claborn PARISH to Thomas KING This Indenture made the twentieth day of August in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Five between Claborn PARISH of the county of Orange and State of North Carolina of the one part, and Thomas KING of the County and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Claborn PARISH for and in consideration of the sum of One Hundred & Fifty -two spanish milled dollars to him in hand paid by the said Thomas KING before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and fully acquit and discharge the said Thomas KING have bargained sold and confirmed unto the said Thomas KING his heirs and assigns forever one tract or parcel of land situated in the county of Orange on the waters of Flat river beginning on James Walkers line at a Hiccory running thence north forty one chains to a black Oak, thence west twenty seven and a half chains to a Maple & two shell bark Hiccories in dry branch, thence down the meanders of said branch to an Ash, thence East four chains to the beginning containing seventy six acres be the same more or less to have and to hold the said bargained premises to the said Thomas KING his heirs & assigns forever with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging and the said Claborn PARISH or any other person or persons whatsoever to warrant and defend forever.
