All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jacqueline Wilkerson jgwilkerson@embarqmail.com September 5, 2009, 1:20 pm Written: January 6, 1809 Recorded: August 1809 Orange County North Carolina Deed Book 13, Page 263 Pleasant Peelor to Stephen Reding This Indenture made this Sixth day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred & Nine Between Pleasant Peelor and Christian Peelor both of the County of Orange and State of North Carolina of the one part and Stephen Reding of the County of Orange and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum of One hundred & twenty five pounds to the said Pleasant & Christian in hand paid by the said Stephen Reding the receipt whereof the said Pleasant Peelor and Christian Peelor doth hereby acknowledge we the said Pleasant Peelor & Christian Peelor hath granted bargained and sold aliened & confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell alien and confirm unto the said Stephen Reding his heirs and assigns forever all that messuage and piece or parcel of Land situate lying & being in the County of Orange and State of North Carolina on the waters of the first Creek of New hope and on Elibees Creek bounded by Lands of John Cabe on the South, Benjamin Carroll on the west and John Copley on the North Begining at a black Jack John Cabes corner, runing west thirty one chains along said Cabes line to a Hiccory John Cabes Corner, then on Benjamin Carrolls line North 44 3/4 chains to a stake then East thirty chains to a black Oak, then along Christian Peelors line South forty four & three quarter chains to the first Station Containing by estimation One hundred and thirty one acres be the same more or less also all trees woods & under woods titles comon pastures commodities advantages hereditaments ways waters water courses and appurtenances whatever to the messuage and Lands above mentioned belonging or any wise appertaining and also the remainder and remainders reversion & reversions rents and services of the said premises of every part thereof and all estate right title Interest claim and demand whatsoever of them the said Pleasant Peelor and Christian Peelor of in and to the messuage and premises and every part thereof to have and to hold the said messuage or tenements and all and singular the premises above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with appurtenances thereto belonging unto the said Stephen Reding his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said his heirs and assigns forever and the said Pleasant Peelor and Christian Peelor for themselves and their heirs and assigns messuage tenements and premises and every part and parcel thereof against them and their heirs and assigns Executors administrators and against all and every person or persons whatsoever to the said Stephen Reding his heirs and assigns will forever warrant and defend by these presents In witness whereof we the said Pleasant Peelor and Christian Peelor have set our hands & Seals the day and year first above written - Pleasant Peelor (LS) Signed Sealed & delivered her in presence of Christian X Peelor (LS) Jacob Allen mark Samuel Peelor Orange County August Term 1809 The Execution of the foregoing Deed was duly proved in open court by the oath of Jacob Allen a subscribing witness thereto & ordered to be registered.
