John Ray to John Reding Sr

Ray     This Indenture made this 30th day of January 1843
 To     Between John Ray of Joseph, of the County of Orange &
Redden  State of North Carolina of the first part & John Reding Senr
of the part, Witnesseth, that the Said John Ray for
& in Consideration of the Sum of One hundred & Sixty
Dollars to him in hand paid by the Said Jno Reding
the recpt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, Have bargained
Sold Aliened En[?]ed & conveyed & by these presents
Do bargain Sell & convey unto the Said John Reding Snr.
his heirs & assigns a certain tract or parcel of Land in the
County of Orange Bounded as follows, Begining at a
a Post oak, thence running North Twenty one Chains
& twenty five links to a Black oak on John Redings line
then West twenty Chains & twelve & a half links to a
Stake on David Rays line, then South twenty one
Chains & twenty five links to a Post Oak on Chs Rays
line, thence East with said Rays line twenty Chains
& twelve & a half links to the Begining Containing forty
two acres more or less To have & to hold the aforesaid
Land & premises with the appurtenances unto the Said
John Reding his heirs & assigns forever, binding Myself
to warrant & defend the Said bargained premises unto
the Said John Reding his heirs Executors Admrs. & assigns
free from the claims of all persons whatsoever
   In Witness whereof I have set my hand & Seal
this day & year above written
