All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jacqueline Wilkerson jgwilkerson@embarqmail.com September 5, 2009, 2:40 pm Written: February 21, 1843 Recorded: February 1843 Orange County North Carolina Deed Book 30, Page 180, 181 Charles W Ray etal to John Reding Jr Ray This Indenture made this 21st day of February AD 1843, Between To Eleanor Ann Ray & Charles W Ray of the County of Orange & State Reding of North Carolina of the One part & John Reding Jr of the County & State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said Eleanor Ann & Chs W Ray for & in consideration of the Sum of One hundred & Seventy Six Dollars & twenty five cents ($176 25/100) to them in hand paid by the said John Reding Jr at the time of executing these presents, the recpt whereof is hereby by them acknowledged They have given granted bargained & Sold & by these presents Do give grant bargain Sell & convey to the Said John Reding Jr his heirs & assigns a Certain tract or parcel of Land Situate lying & being in the County & State aforesaid on the watters of Forresters Creek adjoining Lands of the Said John Reding Robert Reding & others Bounded as follows, Begining at a Post Oak William A Grahams Corner, running from thence with said Redings line North 3º West forty one chains and twenty links to pointers, then East fourteen Chains & Ninety Links to a Post Oak, then South 58º East Thirty five Chains & Eighty links to pointers on Hastings line, then with his line South 28º West twenty five chains to a Stake, then West thirty two chains to the Begining Containing One hundred & forty one acres More or less, and also all Woods, Ways, Waters & Water Courses, Mines, Minerals & improvements, and the reversion and reversions, remainder & remainders, rents issues & profits of the aforesaid Lands and also all the Estate Right title interest & claim of them the Said Eleanor Ann & Chs W Ray of in & to the Lands and premises hereby granted To have & to hold the aforesaid Lands & premises with the appurtenances thereto belonging or in anywise appertaining to him the said John Reding his heirs & assigns forever, and to his & their own proper use & behoof forever. And the said Eleanor Ann & Charles W Ray hath covenanted and agreed & by these presents Do Covenant & agree to & with the Said John Reding his heirs & assigns that the right & title of the Lands & premises hereby conveyed unto the Said John Reding his heirs & assigns, that they & their heirs Shall & will warrant & forever defend by these presents against the Claims of all persons whatsoever.
