William Reading to James Ward

	This Indenture made this 13th day February AD
1830, Between William Readen of the one part & James Ward
of the other part both of the County of Orange & State of North
Carolina Witnesseth that the said William Readen for & in
Consideration of the Sum of Two hundred Dollars to him
in hand paid by the said James Ward, the recpt is hereby
acknowledged. Hath Given granted bargained & Sold and
by these presents doth give grant bargain & Sell unto the
said James Ward a Certain tract or parcel of land, ly-
ing in the County of Orange on the West fork of Stags Creek,
Begining at a Black oak on the East fork of said Creek,
thence North 8 chs & 25 links to a Mulberry, then West
15 chs to a hickory Robert Rays former corner, then South
24° West 46 chs & 91 links to a Stake in the old field,
then East 28 chs & 66 links to a Sassafras on the West bank
of the Creek, then up the Creek as it meanders to the
begining, supposed to be one hundred acres be the
same more or less with all reversions remainders rents
services thereof whatsoever, as well in Law as in Equity
of him the said Wm Readen, of in & to the said Seat or tract
of Land & premises above mentioned unto the said James
Ward for himself & his heirs, doth Covenant & grant to &
with the said James Ward the said Sea tract or parcel
of Land & premises hereby bargained & Sold Against
him the said William Readen his heirs Executors Admrs.
& assigns & all persons & manner of persons whatsoever, claim-
ing or lawfully to claim, will warrant & by these presents
forever defend In Witness whereof the sd William Readen
hath set his hand & Seal the day & date above Written
