Stephen Redding to Aquilla Rhodes

Aquilla Rhodes    ) This Indenture made this [blank] In the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fifteen between Stephen
Redding of the County of Orange and State of North Carolina of the one
part and Aquilla Rhodes of the County & State aforesaid of the other
part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum of one
hundred & Sixty five pounds to the said Stephen Redding in hand paid
by the said Aquilla Rhodes at or before the sealing & delivery of these
presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and therefore
doth Release Acquit & discharge the said Aquilla Rhodes his Executors
and Administrators by these Presents he the said Stephen Redding granted
bargained Sold Aliened & Confirmed And by these Presents doth grant
bargain Sell alien & confirm unto the said Aquilla Rhodes and his
heirs a certain Piece of Parcel of Land Situate lying & being in the
County of Orange & State aforesaid Bounded as followeth (Viz) Begining
at a Black Jack John Cabes Corner then runing West 31 chains along
said Cabes line to a Hickory said Cabes Corner then on Benjamin Carrols
line runing North 44¾ chains to a Stake thence East 30 chains to a black
Oak thence South along Christian P[?] line 44¾ chains to the first
Station Containing One hundred & thirty One Acres be the same more
of less together with all the hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever
to the said Premises belonging or in any wise appertaining and also all
the Estate Right title Interest, property claim & demand whatsoever of him
the said Stephen Redding of in & to the said Premises and all deeds evidence
and Writing touching or in any wise concerning the same to have & to hold
the lands hereby Conveyed & all & Singular the Premises hereby bargained
and Sold & every Part & Parcel thereof with their appurtenances unto the
said Aquilla Rhodes her heirs and assigns forever to the only proper use
and behoof of him the said Aquilla Rhodes and of his heirs & assigns
forever and the said Stephen Redding for himself his heirs Executors
and administrators doth covenant promise and grant to and with the
Auquilla Rhodes his heirs and assigns by these Presents that the
said Stephen Redding now at the time of Sealing & delivering of these
Presents is seized of a good Sure Perfect & indefeasible estate of
inheritance In fee simple of and in the premises hereby bargained
and Sold and that he has good Power & lawful & absolute Aut
-hority to grant & convey the same to the said Aquilla Rhodes In
manner & form aforesaid and that that the said Premises now are
and so forever hereafter shall remain and be free & clear of & from
all former gifts grants bargains Sales dowers right & title of dower
Judgments Executions titles troubles charges & incumbrances Whatsoever
made [?] Committed or Suffered by the said Stephen Redding
or any other Person or Persons whatsoever and that the said Stephen
Redding & his heirs all and Singular the Premises hereby bargained
and Sold with the Appurtenances unto the said Aquilla Rhodes
his heirs and Assigns against him the said Stephen Redding &
his heirs and all & every Person & persons whatsoever shall Warrant
and forever defend by these Presents In witness whereof the said
Stephen Redding hath hereunto set his hand & Seal the day and
