All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jacqueline Wilkerson jgwilkerson@embarqmail.com September 5, 2009, 6:01 pm Written: February 1, 1855 Recorded: February 1855 Orange County North Carolina Deed Book 34, Page 513, 514 John Redding to Joseph A Smith Redding to Smith This Indenture made this 1st day of February one thousand eight hundred and fifty five between John Redding of the County of Orange and State of North Carolina of the one part and Joseph A Smith of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Redding for and consideration of the Sum of forty dollars to him in hand paid by the said Joseph A Smith the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the said John Redding hath bargained and sold unto the Said Joseph A Smith his heirs & Administrators Executors and assigns that tract or parcel of land lying & being in the County of Orange & State of North Carolina on the waters of little river Containing by estimation thirteen acres more or less the said tract or parcel is bounded as follows on the North by John Redding on the east by Robert Reding & on the South & west by said Joseph A Smith Beginning at a Stake & Pointers on Robert Redings line Smiths corner thence North with Robert Redings line eighteen chains & to Pointers on & west seven chains & twenty five links to Smiths Corner on John Reddings line then south with Smiths line to a willow oak Joseph A Smiths corner then east Seven chains & twenty five links to the beginning Containing thirteen acres be the same more or less To have & to hold the above bargained land and premises together with all & singular the privileges & appurtenances there= unto belonging or in anywise appertaining to the said land and premises unto said Joseph A Smith his heirs and assigns forever and to theire only proper use & benefit forever and the said Joseph A Smith for himself his heirs executors or administrators doth covenant to and with the said Joseph A Smith his heirs or assigns that the right & title of the same he will warrant and defend forever by these presents against the clames of persons whatsoever In testimony whereof the said John Redding hath hereunto Set his hand and affixed his seal the day and date above written Signed Sealed and delivered John Redding (Seal) in presence of Wm.
