Hunter for $43.00 interest on $36.14 from 12th February 1867 & costs of suit – against – William Redding as of record doth appear; having levied said writ of execution on the lands and tenements of the said William Reddin hereinafter described on the 31st day of May 1879 and having made advertisement according to law and sold said lands and tenements at public sale for cash on the 7th day of July 1879 at the Court House door in said County when and where William D Woods of the County of Orange and State of North Carolina became the last and highest bidder at the sum of One hundred & Seventy Six 15/100 Dollars which said sum has been paid to the undersigned in accordance with the terms of said sale – In consideration of the premises and in further consideration of the purchase money paid as aforesaid the receipt Whereof is hereby acknowledged the said T H Hughes Sheriff as aforesaid hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto the said William D Woods and his heirs all the right title and interest of the said William Redding as aforesaid in and to the following piece or parcel of land levied on as aforesaid situate in said County of Orange on the Waters of Little River and bounded as follows. On the North by the lands of Nelson Ray & Thomas Kinion – On the East by the land sof the heirs of Uriah Wilkerson & James A Graham – On the South by the lands of Robert Redding & Joseph A Smith; & on the West by the lands of the late John S Woods & Mary Wilkerson – supposed to contain 240 acres more or less – the interest of the said William Redding being One undivided half thereof To have and to hold said land and premises with its improvements and appurtenances to him the said William D Woods his heirs and assigns in as full and ample or manner as the undersigned is empowered by virtue of his office to convey and assine the same – And the undersigned sheriff as aforesaid doth covenant promise and agree to and with the said William D Woods his heirs and assigns that he and they shall and may at all times hereafter have hold occupy use and possess said land and premises free and clear of and from all incumbrances had made or done by the undersigned or by his order means or procurement; and the undersigned will forever Warrant and defend said lands and premises to the said William D Woods his heirs and assigns so far as his said office of Sheriff will authorize and enable him to do and no further In testimony whereof the undersigned Sheriff as aforesaid hath hereunto set his hand and seal this 7th day of July 1879 Signed sealed and delivered ) in the presence of ) Thos H Hughes Sherff (seal) T.
