M. Jordan of Hillsboro township Orange County by John Turner Sheriff of said County do hereby make the following return We have viewed and appraised the homestead of the said F.M Jordan and the dwellings and buildings thereon owned and occupied by said F. M Jordan as a homestead. to be six hundred dollars it being the hometract of land containing 154 acres more or less on the waters of Eno River adjoining the lands of Lemuel Lynch James H Parrish & others also we have viewed and appraised one other tract of land Containing 45 acres more or less adjoining the lands of James Morris John Jordan & others to be forty five dollars The above named lands are therefore exempted from sale under execution according to law At the same time and place we viewed and appraised at the values annexed the following articles of personal property selected by said F.M Jordan (To wit) One Roan Horse $50. One Mule $50. One mare and colt $50. Two cows, one old $15. 2 heifers $10. 2 calves $5. One Sow and eight [?] $10. 2 Sows and 14 pigs $16. One steer $10. 7 Head sheep $7. One old wagon $10. One old cart $4 One old buggy & harness $25. 4 old plows $5. Hoes & Mattocks $2. 1 Book case & books $10. One feather bed & contents $10. One Do $12.50 One Do $10. One Do $10. One Trunnel Bed & fixtures $5. One childs crib $1. One table $2. Wash stand & old Lounge $1. One Buro $7.50 1 Do $2.50 One Wardrobe $12. 1 childs Bureau $2. One Wash stand $4.25 One old sideboard $11.50 One old cupboard 50 cts Kitchen furniture $3. Table furniture $2. Loom & Gear $1. One lot of common chairs $2.50 bushels of wheat $50. 2 stacks of oats and a lot in the barn $25. One small stack of hay $5. Growing crop of corn $30. Which we declare to be a fair valuation and that the said articles are exempt under said executions We hereby certify that we are not related by either by blood or marriage to the judgment debtor or the judgment creditor in these executions and have no interest near or remote in the above exemptions Given under our hands and seals this 23rd July 1869 John Redding (seal) John Riley (seal) Wm.
