All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jacqueline Wilkerson jgwilkerson@embarqmail.com March 31, 2009, 2:37 am Written: June 1, 1798 Recorded: May 1798 Orange County North Carolina Deed Book 7, Page 230, 231 Thomas Reding to James Crabtree Thomas Reding to James Crabtree This Indenture made this first day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and ninety eight Between Thomas Reding of Orange County and State of North Carolina of the one part and James Crabtree of Orange County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas = = Reding for and in Consideration of the sum of eight pounds to him in hand paid before the sealing and delivering of these presents the Receipt where of he doth hereby acknowledge himself there with fully satisfied contented and paid and thereof doth acquit and discharge him the said James Crabtree and his Heirs forever have bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain Sell convey and confirm unto the said James Crabtree and his Heirs forever one certain tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County aforesaid and on the south side of Eno River Bounded as follows (to Wit) Begining at a white oak on the bank of Eno runing thence South thirty nine & a half chains to a post oak then East fifty chains to a Black Oak then North twenty six chains to a Post oak on the bank of the said River thence up the Meanders thereof to the first station Containing by estimation One hundred and Sixty three acres and ¾ be the same More or less to Have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land together with all the Right priviledge and appurtenances there unto Belonging to him the said James Crabtree his Heirs and assigns forever and the said Thomas Reding doth hereby oblige himself his Heirs Exrs. administrators and assigns to Warrant and forever defend the above mentioned Premises to the James Crabtree his Heirs and assigns against the lawfull claim of any person Whatsoever In Witness whereof the said Thomas Reding hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above Written.
