David Reding etal to Robert Reding

Reding    This Indenture made the 4th day of November
  To          Eighteen hundred & forty Seven Between Nancy
Reding    Redding wife of John Reding Decd, John Reding attorney
                for Mary Reding of Tennessee & himself, John Ray & his
wife Elizabeth, David Reding of Tennessee McNairy County
Stephen Reding of Arkansaw, Nancy Reding, John
Reding, John Ray & his wife Elizabeth of the County of
Orange & State of North Carolina of the first part and
Robert Reding of the County of Orange & State of North
Carolina of the Second part, Witnesseth, that the Said
Nancy Reding, John Reding for Mary Reding & him
self, John Ray & his Wife Elizabeth, David Reding
of Tennessee & Stephen Reding for & in consideration
of the sum of Six hundred & forty five Dollars to
them in hand paid by the said Robert Reding
the recpt whereof is hereby acknowledged, we the said
Nancy Reding John Reding John Ray & his wife
Elizabeth, David Reding & Stephen Reding hath
bargained, granted & sold conveyed & confirmed
unto the Said Robert Reding his heirs admrs. & Executors
& assigns all that tract or parcel of Land lying & being
in the County of Orange & State of North Carolina on the
waters of Lyttle River Containing by Estimation Two
hundred acres be the same more or less, which did
formerly belong to William Crosset & David Ray
bounded as follows Begining at a post Bedford
Hurdles line, then runing East along Hamilton Mont
gomerys line to Black Oak Sapling on James Rays line, then
South with Thomas Barlows heirs line to a white oak
or Rock, then South West to a Stake, then South to a Black
Oak formerly the corner of Joseph Rays heirs, then
West fourteen Chains & forty four links to a Stake
Caty Rays corner, then with Caty Rays line Sixty Nine
Chains & thirty links to a Stake on Bedford Hurdles line
then East fourteen chains & forty four links to a
[?] Oak Bedford Hurdles corner then North to the
begining Containing Two hundred acres
more or less To have & to hold the said two
hundred acres of Land and the prem
ises attached thereunto to him the said
Robert Reding his heirs & assigns forever and the said Nancy Reding John Reding
John Ray & Elizabeth his wife, David Reding of Tennessee, Stephen Reding
& John Reding attorney for Mary Reding of Tennessee doth covenant & agree
to warrant & forever defend the right of said land unto the said Robert
Reding, his heirs & assigns forever free from the claims of ourselves & all
other person or persons whatever In testimony whereof we have set
our hands & seals this day & year above written         Nancy Reding (seal)

     Personally appeared before me J S
Bailey one of the Judges of the Superior Courts of Law
& Equity for the State aforesaid, the before named
Elizabeth Ray wife of John Ray & acknowledged
the execution of the foregoing instrument of wri
ting as her act & Deed, and the Said Elizabeth being
then privately examined by me Separate & apart
from her said husband, acknowledged that she
executed the same freely & voluntarily and
without any compulsion on the part of her Said
husband Let it be registered as to her

                     Orange County May Term 1848
   The Execution of the foregoing Deed was
duly proved in Open Court by the Oath of John
S Woods a Subscribing Witness thereto & ordered
to be registered with the above certificate
