All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Jacqueline Wilkerson jgwilkerson@embarqmail.com September 10, 2009, 11:29 pm Written: April 1, 1857 Recorded: September 23, 1869 Orange County North Carolina Deed Book 39, Page 116, 117 Robert Reding to Thomas J Taylor Redding ) This Indenture made this first day of April eighteen To ) hundred and fifty seven Between Robert Reding of the Taylor ) County of Orange & state of North Carolina of the first part and Thomas J Taylor of the second part Both of the County of Orange and state of North Carolina Witnesseth that the said Robert Reding for & in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said Thomas J Taylor the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the said Robert Reding hath granted & sold conveyed and confirmed unto the said Thomas J Taylor his heirs administrators and assigns all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Orange and state of North Carolina on the waters of Forresters creek Containing by estimation one hundred & three acres be the same more or less Bounded as follows Beginning at pointer on the East side of the great road running from thence South eight chains to a White Oak John Taylor’s corner thence East with said Taylors line twenty one and a half chains to pointers thence North thirty four chains & seventy four links to a stake on Joseph Smiths line thence West five chains & 20 links to a stake Joseph Smiths corner thence North with said Smiths line thirteen chains to a stake thence West seventeen chains & ninety links with L[?] Wilkersons line thence South fifteen chains & fifty links to a stake Clenor Smiths corner thence East with A[?]th Lindsey line to the great Road six chains & 25 links thence with the Road South course six chains & fifty links to the branch thence up with the meanders of the branch to aA[?]th Lindsey line it being seven chains & fifty links in a straight line [?] with the meanders of the branch thence South twenty one chains & sixty four links to a stake on Hugh Woods line thence East with said Woods’ line three chains & eighty links to the beginning Containing One hundred and three acres be the same more or less to have & to hold the said One hundred & three acres of land and premises attached thereunto to the said Thomas J Taylor forever & the said Robert Reding doth covenant & agree to warrant & forever defend the right of said land with the said Thomas J Taylor his heirs & assigns forever free from the claims of all persons whatsoever In testimony whereof I have set my hand & seal the day & year above written Signed Sealed & Delivered ) Robert Reding (seal) In presence of ) H Woods ) State of North Carolina ) Probate Court Orange County ) 23d Sept 1869 Be it remembered that on this 23d day of Sept 1869 the execu tion of the foregoing Deed of conveyance was duly proved in open court by the oath & examination of Hugh Woods the subscribing witness thereto therefore let the said Deed with this certificate be Registered Recd State & County tax Geo Laws 23d Sept 1869 Judge of Probate Geo Laws CSC File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/nc/orange/deeds/reding502gdd.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/ncfiles/ File size: 3.6 Kb
