Sneed and Stephen Moore all of the County of Orange and State of North Carolina Witnesseth that whereas Willis Reeves stands justly indebted to Jonathan P. Sneed, Guardian of Mary Whitted in the sum of Six hundred dollars by bond bearing even date herewith and being minded and desirous honestly to secure the payment of the same by conveying to the said Stephen Moore the following tracts or parcels of land lying and being in the County and State aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of Five dollars to him the said Reeves in hand paid by the said Stephen Moore before the sealing and delivering of these present the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Viz one tract of land whereon I now live on the waters of Stage Creek containg one hundred and fifty acres more of less as well more or less as will nill more fully appear on reference to the deed from John Reeves to me bearing date the 24th September 1800 and duly recored one other tract joining the same containing one hundred twenty two and a half acres more or less as well more fully appear on reference to the deed from Aron Walker to me bearing date the 26th day of Decembert 1821 and duly recorded one other tract joining the first mentioned containing one hundred acres more or less which I bought of David Lynch as well more fully appear on reference to said deed from David Lynch to me bearing date the 9th November 1799 to him the said Stephen Moore his heirs and assignes forever in Trust and confidence and the right and the titles of said land I now and forever warrant and defend to the said Stephen Moore his Heirs and assigns. Now if the said Willis Reeves shall fail to pay to the said Jonathan P. Sneed guardian of Mary Whitted the said sum of Six hundred dollars with the interest thereon and the cost attending the execution of this trust on or before the 1st January next then it shall and may be lawful for the said Stephen Moore to sell the said Lands for cash to the highest bidder for cash after giving public notice of the time and place of the sale and out of the monies arriving from such sale to pay and satisfy the said Sneed guardian aand ? the said sum of Six hundred dollars with the interest thereon and the cost attending said trust and the surplus if any to pay and satify to the said Willis Reeves his heirs and assignes. But if the said Willis Reeves shall well and truly pay and satify to the said guardian the sum befre specified on or befre the 1st January next then the above to be void otherwise to remain in full fore and virture as witnesses my hand and seal this day and date above, Willis Reeves. Witn.Erasmus Moore. The execution of this deed was proved before me as Clerk of Orange County Court of pleas and quarter sessions by the oath of Erasmus Moore the subscribing Witness.
