Deed Bk 23 pg 199 May 13, 1828 This Indenture made this thirteenth day May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight between John Reeves of the one part and Thomas Reeves of the other part both of Orange County and State of North Carolina Witnesseth that the aforesaid John Reeves for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid by the said Thomas Reeves before the signing and sealing of these present the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath and by these present doth grant, bargain, sell, alien ? and confirm unto the said Thomas Reeves and to his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece, parcel or tract of land containing one hundred and fifty two acres bounded as followeth ( to wit, lying and being in said County of Orange and State of North Carolina on the waters of Back Creek joining the line of said Thomas Reeves, William Faucett and Thomas Byrd Senr. Beginning at a Willow Oak on the said Thomas Reeves line, thence west with William Faucetts line fifty seven and a half chains to an Ash on the bank of Buckhorn Creek, thence with the waters of the Creek to an Ash, thence north forty six ? three chains and fifty links to a black gum, thence west two chains and twenty links to a black oak on Thomas Byrds line, thence North with said Byrds line twenty ? chains and twenty five links to a hickory Thomas Reeves Corner, thence East thirty four and a half chains to a stake, thence with the said Thomas Reeves line south twenty five chains to a stake, Thence East twenty three chains ? thence south wi the said Thomas Reeves line twelve chains to the ? together with the appurtenances thereof to have and to hold ? / one hundred and fifty two acres of land with its appurtenances ? said Thomas Reeve and to his heirs and assigns forever and all the estate, title, interest, property, claim and demand of him the said John Reeves of one and to the same and every part and parcel thereof to the only purpose ? = of it and behalf of him the said Thomas Reeves his heirs, Executors and assigns, and the said John Reeves for himself his heir, Executors doth covenant and agree to and with the said Thomas Reeves to ? forever defend the title of the aforesaid tract of land hereby ?-ted against the lawful title, claim and demand of all persons. In testimony whereof the said John Reeves hath here unto set his hand and seal the day and year herein before written. John Reeves Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of W.
